EASY CAJUN SHRIMP PASTA

This Cajun shrimp pasta has linguine noodles tossed with shrimp, zucchini, and onions in a spicy red sauce.
One of my favorite ways to eat shrimp is in a pasta dish. It has to be fairly spicy, as well, and accompanied with a red sauce. So it’s no secret at all that I love a good Cajun shrimp pasta. This recipe is my favorite way to make this dish at home, using a mixture of spices such as thyme, paprika, and cayenne. This recipe also moves fast; once the pasta is cooked and the ingredients are prepped, it takes less than 15 minutes to throw this together on the stove. It definitely goes on my list of easy dinner recipes.

Honey Garlic Chicken

You can never have too many chicken recipes, but after a while they start to blend together— so what makes THIS one stand out? Maybe it’s the way its flavors infuse the vegetables cooked with it. Maybe it’s the awesome flavor combination of honey, garlic, chili flakes and soy sauce. Maybe it’s the just-right balance between adventurous and familiar. Or MAYBE it’s the fact that you can make it in your slow cooker! For us, it’s all of the above, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Watch how it’s made, then read on for the recipe and the crispy-skin variation.

Creamy Spinach Artichoke Ravioli Bake

When it comes to delicious veggie combinations, there really isn’t anything we love more than the pairing of spinach and artichoke. For a party, it’s really the best appetizer option – remember our Artichoke Dip Stuffed Mushrooms and Baked Spinach Mashed Potato Cups?! – but we love it so much we want it to be the centerpiece of our dinners, not the appetizer or the side.

GNOCCHI ARRABBIATA WITH BACON AND SUN-DRIED TOMATOES

You’ll love this spicy gnocchi arrabbiata pasta recipe with crispy crumbled bacon and sun-dried tomatoes simmered in a rich and creamy tomato sauce.

Someday I need to publish a post of all of my favorite things to buy at Trader Joe’s. It’s my go-to grocery store and I’ve been averaging several visits there each week. For now, I’ll just mention my favorite pasta sauces — Trader Joe’s creamy tomato basil pasta sauce and Trader Joe’s arrabbiata sauce — which are perfect for days when I don’t feel like whipping up my own sauce. Their arrabbiata sauce is what got me initially hooked on spicy tomato sauces many years ago, and today’s recipe features my homemade rendition of a thick and creamy arrabbiata sauce paired with gnocchi.

ROASTED CHICKEN WITH CREAMY CAPER SAUCE

Make this comforting chicken dinner with roasted chicken and tomatoes topped with a creamy caper sauce and served with linguine.

This is the tastiest chicken dish that I’ve eaten in recent memory — the chicken is coated in flour and then dipped in egg, pan-seared until golden-brown, roasted in the oven until cooked through, and drizzled with a creamy caper sauce. So savory and full of flavors, this chicken is crispy on the outside, and moist and tender on the inside. The caper sauce is made using garlic, shallots, a drizzle of lemon juice, cream, and butter. Lastly, the chicken is paired with roasted parmesan-crusted tomatoes and a side of linguine noodles. Yum

CRAZY GOOD BEEF AND BROCCOLI

Try this easy recipe for authentic Chinese beef and broccoli with white rice.

Beef and broccoli is a staple dish that you’ll find at nearly all Chinese American restaurants — along with other favorites such as fried wontonskung pao chickenegg rolls, and Mongolian beef. I love beef and broccoli because (a) I can’t resist anything with tender and tasty strips of flank steak, and (b) it’s such an easy one-pan stir fry recipe. Also, if you’re a huge broccoli fan like me, you’ll love these juicy and flavorful bites of broccoli in between mouthfuls of meat and rice.

INSTANT POT SALMON WITH CHILI-LIME SAUCE

Make this Instant Pot salmon dish — the salmon cooks perfectly in just 5 minutes in a pressure cooker, with minimal cleanup.

Last weekend, I decided to give pressure cooking a try. I used a multi-functional cooker from Instant Pot that serves as pressure cooker, rice cooker, slow cooker, yogurt maker, steamer, warmer, and more. You can even use it to sauté and brown your meats. I thought it would take me a while to learn how to operate it, but it’s been surprisingly easy to use. I first experimented with cooking fish in the pressure cooker, and learned how to make perfectly cooked salmon in just 5 minutes. In today’s recipe you’ll find instructions on how to do this as well as a delicious chili-lime sauce recipe to accompany the salmon.

SMOKED SALMON CROSTINI WITH LEMON RICOTTA SPREAD

Serve this smoked salmon crostini with capers and a lemon ricotta spread at your next gathering with friends.
Smoked salmon is something we always keep well-stocked in the Savory Tooth household, and recently I was thinking how it was a year ago that I held a Smoked Salmon Week. We celebrated by eating all things smoked salmon, and our favorites included smoked salmon quesadillas with jalapeños and sriracha aioli and smoked salmon potato cakes.  Most recently, I cooked with smoked salmon to make these ricotta stuffed shells, and today I use both smoked salmon and ricotta once more in something totally different: smoked salmon crostini with capers and a lemon ricotta spread.

Cooking Eggs in Cast Iron: My Mom's 4-Step Foolproof Process

My mama can cook a handful of things well (lasagna, scrambled eggs, toast) and a great many things that still leave you wanting. But given that toast is my favorite food, quickly followed by eggs, she's pretty much the ultimate culinary goddess in my eyes. One thing she does exceptionally well is cook eggs in a cast iron pan. They never ever burn and they always taste better than anything I cook up.

Almond-Crusted Chicken Fingers with Yogurt-Herb Dip

Weeknight Skillet Lasagna

How To Cook Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs in the Oven

I am a huge, huge fan of boneless, skinless chicken thighs. They are inexpensive, tasty, and easy to cook. In fact, I find it difficult to mess up chicken thighs. They are just dark enough to stay tender, but not so dark as to put off people who prefer white meat. Everyone who eats regularly at my house has eaten chicken thighs!

Chicken Saltimbocca with Spinach and Potatoes

Did you know that saltimbocca literally means "jumps in the mouth"? That description could not be more fitting for this weeknight version of the Italian restaurant favorite. This dish starts off with crisp, tender potato rounds and soft bundles of garlicky spinach, which creates the base for the herbed chicken that's covered with salty prosciutto and melted cheese. It's basically the dish chicken breast has been waiting for.
